How I see it is they capture human females which are the easiest race to rape and breed with since there are many, orc reproduction is shorter than the other races so one female could probably produce 30 or more orc children before she dies of exhaustion.

But when the dark powers arose again, the Orcs were forced to breed like animals on a farm to produce more foot soldiers, and the concept of "family" was lost. Orcs probably never know their parents or children.
