Mayonnaise will keep refrigerated in a covered container for two to three days. Roast beef Preparation time: Five minutes Cooking time: 35 to 45 minutes. Roast the beef uncovered in an ovenproof pan for 15 minutes. Transfer the roast to a cutting board and let it stand uncovered for 15 minutes. Salt and pepper the roast to taste, then carve and serve. Makes six to eight servings.
Ingredients 2 chopped shallots 3 tablespoons vinegar 2 tablespoons water 1 egg yolk or 1 pasteurized egg yolk or 1 tablespoon liquid pasteurized egg 2 tablespoons fat-free sour cream or fat-free plain yogurt 1 sprig fresh tarragon, chopped or a pinch of dried tarragon, crushed Salt and pepper to taste. In a saucepan, mix the chopped shallots in the vinegar and water.
Cover and cook for about 10 minutes. Uncover and continue cooking until the sauce thickens, about five more minutes. In a bowl, beat the egg. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the beaten egg and the yogurt or sour cream.
Add the chopped tarragon to the mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Reheat in a double boiler to thicken further. Serve immediately.
Plan of action? Make a nice big mug of ordinary tea and the daily Oat Bran Galette. Today I used a couple of drops of almond essence to give it flavour, which was a perfect choice! The almond made it even more tasty and enjoyable, almost like a little cake for breakfast. My housemate had also become curious about the galette breakfast, so I offered to make him one too this morning. He had cinnamon for the flavour, which is probably the weakest of the flavourings as he told me it was a very faint flavour.
He also had a cup of tea with his, which I think really does help it to go down and then fill the stomach. I had breakfast around 8am, and sadly I was very hungry again.
By 10am, I decided I had to have something so I ate a few bits of ham and cooked a fried egg. To fry eggs low fat, the best method is to use a tiny spritz of spray oil, put it on medium heat and the important bit is to cover the pan with a lid. I was hungry again by about 11am, so I made 3 more fried eggs and ate them with a little more ham. I also made sure I had another cup of tea and refilled my water glass.
It really is the most important thing to drink lots on any diet - the water is needed to take the broken down parts of the fat out of the body. Anyway, back to the point, I had more food and drink to keep me going. A few hours after that I was still hungry, or more to the point craving food, so I had a little more ham and a tin of tuna with the brine drained off.
The thing is without enough to drink, another side effect is a weird and unpleasant taste in the mouth. Easily washed away with water, tea, or another drink which is permitted - sugar free cola. Diet, Zero or Max brands are all fine, along with the same in supermarket brands. The most interesting point was about the Oat Bran Galettes. Then flip and cook until solid, about 1 more minute. Serve with monk fruit sweetened maple syrup, if desired. Lakanto is pretty perfect. I consider exercise and good, clean food sources a gift to myself.
I want to be healthy all my life, as much as I can help it! If I care for myself, everyone around me gets the best version, and I have more good stuff to give. I prefer unprocessed everything, when possible. My favorite is Lakanto Maple Flavored Syrup , sweetened with monk fruit.
