Here is a paragraph from this ginan which encompasses the commandment on Shukravari Beej — the Ismaili version of fasting:.
Satgur Kahe re, Satnu vrat shukr-vaari beej chhe Ane baar pahor pura jaan Ardho aahaar kari je raakhshe Te paamshe amar thaam re. The true guide says, The vow of Truth is to observe shukr-vaari beej The fast is for 12 pahor, [Ed. Pir Shams of the Ismailis mandates fasting for Ismailis for 12 pahor. A pahor is a unit of time which consists of three hours and 12 pahor would thereby equate to 36 hours.
The ginan above is in clear contradiction of the Quran, which prescribes fasting from dawn to dusk:. In the past, the momins started the fast after the morning prayer on Thursday and broke it on Friday after evening prayer. Friday being the second day of the fast, was known as Beej. Hence Beej-Shukarwari. This is observed when there is a new-moon on Friday. The fasting lasted twelve pahor, thirty six hours, during which the whole night should pass in prayer. No work, sleep or other worldly affairs are allowed.
On the other hand, they observe Shukravari Beej, during which they abstain from eating and drinking. Another interesting aspect of Shukravari Beej is that the current practice breaking the fast in Jamatkhanas aka Community Centers or worship halls of the Ismailis is done at the fixed time of evening prayers, regardless of the time of sunset.
This is specially evident in the months of summer in North America where the sunset can go well beyond 9pm whereas Ismailis convene at their Jamatkhanas at a fixed time of usually pm in those countries. Muslims on the contrary, observe Saum as prescribed by the Quran and as practiced by Muslims over the past years. Surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.
QS 57; All those who read shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; O Allah, be my witness, that I have conveyed your message to your people.

Love Allah more than other such as; your wife, children, and wealth Q. Allah is All Richest, His wealth abound. Ismaili beliefs are syncretic reconciliation with other beliefs , including philosophies from Aristotle, Plotinus, Pythagoras, gnosticism, the Manichaeans, Judaism, Christianity, and Eastern religions.
Their beliefs of the creation of the world is idiosyncratic. Their ecumenism, tolerance of religious differences, and religious hierarchy is equally idiosyncratic. The Ismaili separation of Islamic theology into exoteric conservative Shariah and esoteric mystical exegesis of the Quran and inner truth creates the mysticism that makes the sect extremely complex and mysterious.
All these practices and beliefs are veiled in secluded secrecy and the Ismailis believe that these beliefs should be guarded and shielded from unbelievers of their faith. Taqiyya is a practice adopted by most Shia and is is also permitted in the Sunni Sect.
In fact it is a practice in Islam as well as in the larger Islamic community. Thus the separation of the ways began.
The fame of the Aga Khan and his family through their prominence in the international political, economic, and social circles has served to aggrandise the Ismaili faith even though this sect represents approximately 0. This is violated by the Ismailis.
Ismailis believe that whatever their spiritual leader, the Aga Khan, may pronounce will be the guidance for the present. That all those who come after him are but false prophets. Thus defying the authority of Allah. Although the earlier Ismailis did not deviate from the central tenets of Islam, it was through the influence of Abdullah ibn Maymun that the movement became subversive of Islam and also of all other religions. All this began when a charismatic leader, Abdullah ibn Maymun, a member of the Brethen of Purity , became the leader of the Ismaili movement around AD.
Maymun was a follower of the Mesopotamian Gnostic heretic Bardasanes and a Soroastrian dualist and was a Gnostic and well versed in all religions of the time.
Maymun used Islam as a front. It was he who created the seven degrees of initiation for the Batinis. He introduced concepts from the Gnostic dualism that permitted them to pillage, to abandon prayer, fasting and other traditional Islamic rituals.
The Qaramitah dominated Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain and extended their ravages westwards. They controlled Mecca after the slaughter of 30, defending Muslims. However, the majority of Ismailis believed in the succession of the Imam in keeping with the traditions of the Fatimid dynasty who had their own caliph and had their capital in Cairo in However, after the Fatimid establishment of their power in Egypt, the substance of the Fatimid teachings was little different from the code of Abdullah Ibn Maymun, and his more violent initiate, Qarmat.
So we conclude that by the 10th century, the Fatimids , Bardasanes , the Soroastrians , the Qaramintah ideologies had all but amalgamated into one intermingled ideology and tradition. Ismailis were in fact a splinter group that were only Muslims in name, and had deviated from the Sunni and Shia traditions and ideologies of Islam. Like Liked by 1 person.
Fraudster Filthy Imam and his fraudulent religion that is a cult created by the fake Imam. How did an atheist become an Imam? He is a sinner committed major sins against Allah, who knows all what this dajjal is doing. Misguiding the innocent followers against Allah and Islam. It is shocking that he is such a good liar, cheater, deceiver and a looter. Running after money. Looting the blood money from his followers on false rituals.
Are they completely possessed by the evil Iblis? I pray to Allah to open their eyes and freed them from the claws of dajjal. You are back. True Muslims do not talk the way you do. They do mo lie. They do mot fabricaye stories.
They prsy for others before themselves. Muslims do not bacbite. You say you are a Muslim. Ask yourself if you trully are Muslim yourself to begin with before judging others especially his highness prince Karim AGAKHAN who all the people with intellect and education admire.

I heard in one of the abuali's waaz that when he mentioned that all farman since Mowla ali AS and even prophets PBUH should be followed unless its cancel by precedding Imams Maula Bless us all Ammen.
I personallly never heard any farmans in which any of our Imam AS stopped us for ramadan fasting. Posted: Fri Apr 30, am Post subject:. I didnt say its mandatory for us to do ramadan fasting Maula Bless us allz. I have not come across any Ginan which refers to fasting in the month of Ramadhan.
Is anybody aware of any? Therefore we must seek clues from the Ginans unless there is a specific Firman about an issue. Posted: Sat May 01, pm Post subject: Ramadhan.
I have heard that the word Ramadhan is also used to refer to Mowla Aly. Now if a person can understand this then the whole fact of fasting in ramadhan takes on a completely different meaning. Living in Mowla Aly you are fasting from all else, since Mowla Aly is above all else. Posted: Mon Aug 23, pm Post subject:.
Fasting during Ramadan is a requirement for all Muslims, including Ismailis. Not only is this prescribed upon us in the Quran, but also look at Hazar Imam--he also fasts. Please unite with the rest of the Islamic community by taking part in this ritual. We need to do BOTH--spiritual and physical fast. To do only one portion is incomplete. For those on this site who mock those who fast by saying why do you starve -- shame on you. Those on this site who say Ismailis are concerned only with the Batini, and cast aside certain practices are negligent to the true meaning of Ismailism.
Do we not say three prayers everyday? Do we not do chanto? Do we not have our own rituals? All of these are exoteric practices, and Ismailis are no different in that regard.
What is different is that we emphasize the esoteric, and the inner meaning. When Sultan Mohamed Shah said that even an animal can fast if it is tied up, he did not wish to cast out those who fasted during the month of Ramadan, but to emphasize upon his murids to to discover the inner meanings, and spirutual significances of their practices.
Are we Ismailis Calvinist? Do we sincerely believe that we are beyond reproach, and are simply pre-destined to enlightenment? Surely, if even Hazrat Ali fasted, we can understand the significance of such an occasion. Surely if Hazer Imam fasts we can understand its significance.
Ramadan is a time of upliftment and greater spiritual awareness. It was during this time that the Qur'an was revealed, and it is proscribed for Muslims to have a greater sence of religion during this month. It is not to fast simply the body, but also of the soul, and of bad thoughts.
It is to be united with fellow Muslims. It is a time to give greater to charity. It is a time when we can think about the less fortunate among our brothers and sisters. The esoteric is transcendent, but that does not mean that the exoteric is non-existent. Posted: Wed Sep 01, am Post subject:.
