The first directions I received from Mr. Hennessey known to his students as RH has been a constant mentor in my life. Yet he always worries about returning to his two young sons. Yet he never fails to have time to listen to one of my practice speeches and offer feedback. RH is a great teacher because of how much he cares about his students. Not when I first entered Klein Forest High School as a young, wide eyed yes, we Asians can have our eyes open like that, contrary to what the stereotypes say , completely unprepared for life as a freshman. Certainly not like I do now. For my first two years, my routine was a very simple one: go to class, study for the class, pass the tests, pass the class, graduate to the next level and do it all over again.
Then I found myself in Health Science, taught by one Dr. Our class had one very distinctive feature: the clinical rotations at Methodist Hospital in Willowbrook. Think of them as a very watered down version of what actual medical school students do in their 3rd and 4th years. And when I finally got that chance, I knew that it was what I wanted to do.
I could see healthcare at its purest: a fundamental human right given without reservation. I could see the dedication the people there had to their work and to their patients, and I wanted to share in that passion one day. Now I find myself bound for college, already looking to attend medical school.
Thank you for helping me understand where I want to go in my life. Walking into an English room sounds like a nightmare to me considering how much I loathe English. However, walking into Mrs. Perez made me love and enjoy learning English 3 AP for the time I was in her class regardless of how badly I wanted to go home. Never have I had a teacher so caring, heartwarming, and whimsically humorous as Mrs. Furthermore, spending extra time with her after school working on UIL made me see the wonderful type of person she is.
Not only has Mrs. Perez taught me English 3 AP and guided me for UIL competition, she also mentored me throughout my junior year and still continues to do so. T and major in mechanical engineering. I could not believe the amount of work I was being assigned when school had only started a few days back. However, as time progressed, I began to realize the sweetness in her heart. I noticed how kind, loving, and dedicated she was to all her students. Specifically, she was always there to assist me on any obstacles I faced, making her a crucial and important person to me in high school.
She motivated me to continue taking French for the following years, and to give it my all in every other class; she is the reason why I took French AP my senior year, and I will always be thankful for that. I am truly blessed to know her during the most important years of my adolescent life, and I am sure I will miss her as my teacher, but I know we will always remain friends.
